Thomas Clarkson Academy celebrate GCSE success

Students at Thomas Clarkson Academy, part of Brooke Weston Trust, have lots to celebrate after receiving another set of fantastic GCSE results.

Due to the Government’s decision to cancel summer examinations again this year, students’ results were teacher assessed. Grades were carefully collated using mock exams and coursework as well as attainment across the GCSE course.

Richard Scott, Principal at Thomas Clarkson Academy, said: “We would like to congratulate all our Year 11 students who have overcome unprecedented challenges over the last two years to achieve these amazing results. We are in awe of their sheer determination, hard work and resilience.

“It has been a pleasure to see our students grow into such aspirational and curious young learners and I am pleased that many of them will be staying on in our sixth form next year. We are excited to see what they will achieve in the future.

“I am also extremely grateful for our incredible team of staff who never fail to inspire and motivate their students, and for our amazing partnership of parents and community. The success of the school would not have been possible without your continued care and support.”

The academy’s highest achieving students included Kameran Sorani, Emily Reach, Evie Crowson,  Thomas Green and Aristi Nicolaou.

Our top achiever, Kameran’s hard work was rewarded with grade 9s in English Language, English Literature, History, Chemistry, Philosophy & Ethics and Statistics. Equalling the number of grade 9s is Emily, who achieved her top grades in Art, English Language, Geography, History and Combined Science.

Aristi achieved her grade 9s in Geography, Maths and Combined Science. Thomas achieved his grade 9s in English Language, English Literature and Maths. Evie, who is also the student who made the most progress in her cohort, achieved her grade 9s in English Language, History, Maths and Combined Science.

Charlotte achieved grades 9-6 in all of her qualifications, excelling especially in English Language and Geography. Maisie excelled in English Language and English Literature as well as Enterprise and Marketing.
