Our Under 13 and Under 16 Girls’ Football teams are celebrating after two recent victories in the English Schools FA National Cup.

Under 13s

The Under 13 girls’ team (pictured above) took on a team from King Edward VII School, Kings Lynn, in round one of the National Cup on Monday, September 24th.

Thomas Clarkson Academy won the game 3-2 thanks to goals from Chloe Clifford, Abi Roach-Smith and Ellie Nobbs.

The team is made up of Year 7 and 8 girls and was led by Captain Abi Roach-Smith.

The other players were Mary Orobosa-Ogbiede, Charlotte Cameron, Megan Williams. Elleemai Benbow, Ellen Withers, Kayleigh Jackson, Courtney Beckett, Chloe Clifford and Ellie Nobbs.

The TCA Under 13 Girls will now play Neale Wade Community College in the second round.

Under 16s

TCA’s Under 16 girls’ team took on Nene Park Academy, Peterborough, in round two of the National Cup on Wednesday, September 26th.

At the end of normal time the score was 6-6 – Jade Chamberlain scored three goals for TCA, Casey Ward scored two and Fern Patterson scored one.

During extra time the TCA girls scored a 7th goal to win the match.

The goalscorer was Jade Chamberlain, bringing her total goals in the game to four.

The Under 16 girls’ team is made up of players from Year 10 and Year 11.

The team was made up of Captain Courtney Wakeham, Vice Captain Becca Cooper, Jess Drew, Ashleigh Burrell, Ellie Bennington, Emily Cooper, Fern Patterson, Jess Cooper, Jade Chamberlain, Hannah Reynolds, Casey Ward, Justyna Swiderek, Amy Hepting and Megan Aguis.

Manager Amy Anderson said: “TCA deserved the win, they’d fought hard against all the odds, against a team which boasted at least one Arsenal player. A great team effort from all of the girls resulted in Chamberlain slotting the last goal of the game into the back of the Nene Park Academy goal. The crowd went wild!”

The TCA team now progress to the third round, where they are away to face The Voyager Academy, Peterborough.
