Students from social justice group #bethechange staged a 24 hour silence to raise awareness of the young people all over the world whose voices are not heard.

Students Taylor Cordell, Claire Freear, and Shannon Marks (pictured above) were among those who took part in the awareness event which started on Thursday, July 9th.

Claire said: “It was an important thing for us to do as there are many young people out there who don’t have a voice. It makes you realise just how fortunate we are in this country and the freedoms that we take for granted.”

The Session 6 #bethechange group has taken part in various events since it was launched in September. It helped raise more than £1000 for local man Billy Lee who has had his leg removed due to cancer and needs a replacement limb.
