Talented student Ben Davis recently has been on a training trip to Portugal with his roller hockey team.

 

Talented student Ben Davis recently has been on a training trip to Portugal with his roller hockey team.

The Year 10 student plays for the region and also has monthly national training sessions, where he has been tipped as a star for the future.

He recently went on a training trip to Portugal with his U17 Cambridge team.

Ben said: “I absolutely love playing Roller Hockey. In the future i would like to play professionally and I hope to earn a living from playing the sport.

“The trip to Portugal was absolutely amazing and I had great fun.

The training was intense and I have learnt lots of things that have helped me in my game play.”

Ben started playing aged 10,after visiting the Skaters roller skating rink in Wisbech.

His mum Abie said: “He went along to Skaters to watch his friend play one evening, thought he'd have ago and it just went from there. He has many cups and trophies including best player of the year, most improved player and Manager's most valued player. He has also won team trophies at county and region level.” 

During the trip to Portugal Ben’s team played against 5 Portuguese teams winning three of their five matches.
