The Under 14 boys basketball team is through to the regional finals after being crowned county champions.

The team won all four games in the County Cup competition which was held at  Chesterton Community College on January 26th and will now take on teams from across the region as they fight it out to win the national competition.

Teacher Piotr Krawczyk, who coaches the team, said: “This is a huge achievement for the team and they played really well at the county cup.

They won all four of their games and special mention must go to Povilas Banys who is a real superstar. He is in Year 9 but has the skills of an 18 year old and scored 30 points himself in the competition.”

The team is made up of Erik Rubanov, Oleg Lifanov, Thomas Skuse, Richard Dubicki, Mantas Juzonis, Alex Bishop, Ricards Popovics and Povilas Banys.

The next game will be against Charters School from Berkshire.
