We hosted a Science Day for local primary school pupils this week.

Year 5 pupils from Peckover Primary and Orchards C of E Primary School had great fun at the science event held on Tuesday.

The theme for the day was ‘shark attack’ and the students worked with head of Science Mr Power

And some of our sixth form students and carried out a series experiments to answer the question:

How does temperature affect the spread of blood in water?

All the children enjoyed the day and there were some informative conclusions presented by the students.

Mr Power said:  “A fantastic day was had investigating why Great White sharks live in warm water. The students made impressive connections between experimental data and real life context.”

This day was organised as part of our transitions programme. Our next event will be a Mini Olympics event for Year 5 students in July.
