Thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s World Book Day competition to identify the most staff members who had dressed up as favourite and memorable literary characters.

Students have until the end of today to hand in their list of staff and characters that they spotted around the Academy. This is the fourth year that teachers have dressed up and there is a lot of friendly rivalry to attract students’ votes for their favourite character.

She said: ‘World Book Day is an amazing opportunity to celebrate literature and books. There is something for everyone and, staff dressed up in homage to characters from Bob the Builder, to Wolverine, to the leading characters in the Wizard of Oz. In total 37 teachers came to school in some amazing costumes so thanks to them, and the enthusiasm of the students, World Book Day 2017 was celebrated in fine style at Thomas Clarkson Academy. Students are eagerly awaiting the results of the student vote!"
