World Autism Awareness Month

World Autism Month aims to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism, foster worldwide support and inspire a kinder, more inclusive world to help us spread kindness and autism awareness.

Author Elle McNicoll says "every child deserves to see themselves reflected positively in stories. I can tell you that inclusive children’s books encourage empathy and understanding” and TCA's librarian Miss Robinson wholeheartedly agrees. Students are reminded that they can send their suggestions for new books for the academy library via the book suggestions form at the bottom of the library page.

Here are a few titles of those available from the academy library to inspire your next read if you would like to find out more about the autistic spectrum, to read a book that features characters that you see yourself in, or understand more about how someone you know may feel:
