Whistles at the ready for netball tournament

The rule book was very much in evidence when an umpiring workshop was held to help students learn how to officiate at a netball tournament.

The group from Years 9 -12 were put through their paces with Helen Scotto Di Marrazzo, of sports education company Improve.it, and they all learnt how and when to use the whistle, the umpiring calls and game management.

Once they had got to grips with the procedural side of things, they were called on to take part in a Primary Bee Netball Tournament hosted at our academy where they put their new-found skills to the test when teams of younger pupils competed against each other.

Congratulations to all of them for a successful event.
