Thomas Clarkson Academy student Sophie Jackson received an early Christmas present on a school trip to see dance act Diversity.

Sophie, Year 8, was among a group of students taken to see the Limitless Reboot tour at the FM Arena in Nottingham on 9th December, and found a golden ticket in her programme telling her she had won a day with Diversity in January.

Sophie said: “It was really amazing. I didn’t really know what it was at first then, when I found out, I was amazed. It said I had won an exclusive workshop to meet and train with Diversity. I will be taking a friend with me to their dance studios in London.”

TCA’s Head of Expressive Arts Lisa Tarsitano said: “I was lost for words! She is an incredibly lucky young lady and was the envy of the concert.”

The students had an amazing time at the show which featured pyrotechnics, acrobatics and contortionists. The performance was based on the dancers being trapped in a computer game and having super human qualities. At one point Diversity’s leader Ashley Banjo was put into a straight jacket and hung from the ceiling by his feet.  The ropes holding his feet together were set alight and he had only 55 seconds to escape and managed to do it with one second to spare.

Mrs Tarsitano said: “It was absolutely inspiring. Diversity’s motto is ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’ and we have all taken this back to TCA with us.”
