Join us at the Wisbech Rose Fair Float Parade

The finishing touches are being made to our entry for this Saturday’s Rose Fair Float Parade.

The finishing touches are being made to our entry for this Saturday’s Rose Fair Float Parade.

Wooden carvings, fantastic head-dresses and more than 88 metres of material have been crafted by our staff and students to dress this year’s float – and the results promise to be spectacular.

Themed around the Lion King, 16 students from the Cooper Centre as well as staff, will be taking part in the parade, which starts at 11am in Queens Road. The procession will do the 2.5 mile circuit twice – with judging taking place on the first lap.

Cooper Centre teacher Jackie Kendal, whose husband is driving the truck, which has been donated by CEVA Logistics, said: “We have entered a float into the parade for many years and have been highly commended for the past two years, so this year it would be great to win it.

“Hundreds of hours have been put in by staff and students and we are really pleased with what we have created.”

A programme of music from the Lion King Soundtrack has been put together by Assistant Principal David Bliss and Lisa Kilburn.

Staff members Jane Mackie, Sue Fisher, Jackie Kendal, Dennis Hoare and John Bunyan have been involved and been assisted by many other staff members with the painting.
