I am PC Callum McGarvie’s replacement as the Safer Schools Officer.

I have been given 5 secondary schools across Fenland and I will be working from within the schools on a regular basis.

Some of what my role will include:

• Build rapport with the students
• Bridge the gap between the younger generation and policing
• Safeguarding
• Identify early on those who are at risk of becoming involved in crime/Anti Social Behaviour
• Educate around some law and legislation
• Provide presentations on specific areas of concern
• Be an alternative ear to listen
• Understand local issues and concerns

Our students are never slow when it comes to raising money for charity, and a recent bake sale has seen more cash going to a good cause.

Talented art students at our academy really pulled out all the stops when they designed Christmas cards for us to send out by email.

Our academy is taking the lead from an Icelandic Christmas tradition and giving students the chance to take part in a Jólabókaflóð - book flood.

A group of our Year 7 students will be wearing their best antlers when they take part in a charity Rudolph Run later this month.
