Children's Mental Health Week
Children's Mental Health Week starts on Monday, February 6 and the theme this year is 'Let's Connect.'
The first ever week was held in 2015, and it was initiated to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health for our children and young people.
Let's Connect is about making meaningful connections both during the week and beyond. Healthy connections, to family and friends for example, can support mental health and enhance a sense of wellbeing.
We can all sometimes feel lonely or isolated, specially if rewarding social connections are not met, and this can have a negative impact on us.
According to the National Literacy Trust, more than half (59%) of children said reading made them feel better while 32% said it helped them when they were missing family or friends.
Our academy library has a huge variety of books to help you, both fiction and non-fiction with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
Students can learn more around the subject or even develop a greater understanding of why someone you know might be feeling the way they do.
