Cooks try out new dishes

Our TCA cooks, who make meals for hundreds of students and staff every day, made several new dishes for a dinner as part of their on-going training.

The six cooks take part in regular training sessions after school and in a training session last week they devised two new menus, which they cooked for Principal Clare Claxton and Assistant Principal David Bliss.

They made dishes including a grilled chicken and chestnut mushroom risotto, a ham and vegetable frittata and chicken satay and rice.

The cooks are now planning to cook a meal for diners to raise money for charity.

TCA’s restaurant will also serve a special Mexican menu to students and staff this Thursday (May 23rd).

Chilli minced beef with rice, vegetable chilli with rice and spicy chicken and chilli salad will be available, all served with tortilla chips and soured cream. Lime cheesecake will be served for dessert.

Jacket potatoes, baguettes and sandwiches will also be available.
