New members of staff
We recently welcomed a number of new staff to TCA. Here we learn a little more about them.
Ms Palmer - Head of Design and Technology
Ms Palmer has been in teaching for nine years and was previously head of art, design and technology at Stanground Academy in Peterborough. Her roles have also included a post-16 advisor. She has already brought her creative flair to her lessons – Year 9s have been making key rings that double up as headphone wraps to stop them getting tangled, while Year 8s have been using CAD/CAM to design coasters.
Mr Clifford – Art Teacher
Mr Clifford joins us from Downham Market Academy, where he worked for three years. Prior to that, he worked as a freelance graphic designer. His degree is in fine art and he studied sculpture at university.
Mrs Willett – Exams/Data Officer
Mrs Willet joins us from the West Norfolk Academies Trust, working at Springwood High School for 11 years. She ended her time there was pastoral manager for Year 11. Mrs Willett also worked at Leverington Primary Academy for three years as a TA.
Mrs Carter – Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Mrs Carter has joined staff in the Cooper Centre, where she is focussing on students’ maths and English. Previously, she worked for five years at a special resource base for children with autism in Downham Market. Prior to that she was a TA in a school in Swaffham.
Miss Crosbie – Attendance Officer
Miss Crosbie previously worked as a TA for SEN students at Cottenham Village College, working mostly with children with autism. She applied for the role at TCA in search of a new challenge and is keen to help more children access their education. She has already started working with families to offer support.
