After watching a film about the 17 books which feature in this year’s Bookbuzz initiative, all Year 7 students selected which book they would like to receive.

The scheme is all about inspiring students to choose a book they think they’ll enjoy reading. The books are all carefully selected by a panel of experts to ensure quality, suitability and to encourage reading for pleasure.

On Friday, teachers will nominate a ‘Student Santa’ to go and collect the box of books for their class. Also in their gift bag will be a scratch and sniff popcorn/cookie/ice cream bookmark and the Bookbuzz bookmark with all the titles on, so if students wish to read them all and tick them off they can.

All of the Bookbuzz choices (and other books in the series) are available for students to borrow from the academy library.

Year 7s can access the Bookbuzz student zone where they will find a competition, blogs by the Bookbuzz authors and the Bookbuzz quiz.
